Pulled over and charged with DWI, DUI, DWAI, or DWAI-Drugs? Don't plead guilty without talking to a defense attorney first. You may have a defense.

Contact me by e-mail or call me at (518) 587-5700 in Saratoga Springs or (518) 792-0345 in Queensbury.

Did You Know...?

  • The police have to have reasonable suspicion to stop your vehicle, and probable cause to make an arrest. If they don't, the rest of the prosecutor's case may fall apart.
  • Field sobriety tests administered by the police are often unreliable. One study found that 46% of the population can't pass the standardized field tests even when they haven't consumed any alcohol.
  • The hand-held breath test (Alco-Sensor) equipment police use at the roadside is not scientifically reliable. That is why it is not admissible in court as proof of intoxication.
  • The Breathalyzer or Intoxilyzer equipment police use to measure blood alcohol content can be affected by a number of factors besides, or in addition to, your alcohol consumption.

Arresting you is easy. Proving you are guilty is not so simple. Don't make it easy for the State of New York to take your driver's license away from you. If you have been charged with DWI/DUI or DWAI (known elsewhere as DUI), contact the Law Offices of Kurt Mausert at (518) 587-5700 in Saratoga Springs, or (518) 792-0345 in Queensbury.

Aggressive and Immediate Response

DWI, Aggravated DWI, and DWAI carry varying degrees of serious consequences. Loss of license, fines and DMV fees into the thousands of dollars, jail and even state prison are all possible. If you have been charged with any alcohol related driving offense, you will need a zealous and experienced defense attorney.

When your driver's license and your liberty are at stake, you need a criminal defense attorney who understands the ins and outs of the drunk-driving laws and isn't afraid to take your case to court if that is where it belongs.

Contact me immediately. Ask the police officer for a phone call, and call me at (518) 587-5700 in Saratoga Springs, or (518) 792-0345 in Queensbury. I'm available 24 hours a day. I have an answering service that will page me. So go ahead-call me from the side of the road. Call me if you are facing the Breathalyzer at the police station. I will guide you through this.

You Don't Have to Talk to the Police

You must provide your driver's license, your registration, and your proof of insurance. Other than that, consult with an attorney before answering any questions, but the sooner I get involved, the sooner the police will have to stop asking you questions. The questions are designed to have you incriminate yourself. Your criminal defense lawyer can stop questioning by the police that could result in incriminating statements.
