No good attorney can promise a specific result. I can only promise that I will do my best for you. If you have been charged with a crime, this is what you should look for in your criminal defense attorney.
Everyone charged with a crime deserves a strong defense. Whether you made a mistake or you are innocent of the charges against you, you deserve a lawyer who will work hard to get you the best possible outcome, given the facts of your case.
If you have been arrested, call my Saratoga Springs office at 518-587-5700 or my Queensbury office at 518-792-0345. If the call is after-hours and is urgent, or if you are in police custody or wanted for questioning, ask my service to page me. I can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What should you look for in a criminal defense attorney?
You should choose an experienced attorney who knows when to fight and when to negotiate. In my 20 years of practice, I have handled cases ranging from traffic tickets to homicides. As your defense lawyer, I will advocate for your rights and deal with prosecutors in as aggressive a manner as is warranted by your case. Having been a prosecutor myself, I understand how to deal with them. With over 20 years of criminal defense experience, I know what we are up against with area judges and juries. I have been able to resolve most of the criminal, DWI and traffic cases I have handled through effective plea negotiations. But should your case call for it, I will defend you at trial to the best of my ability.
I represent people in New York state courts, (including county courts, the appellate division, family court, city, town and village courts) at all stages of the proceedings, including appeals. I handle cases involving all penal law offenses and crimes including the following:
- Violent crimes: murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, assault, aggravated assault, domestic violence
- Drug charges: from unlawful possession of marijuana (UPM) by college students at Adirondack Community College, SUNY-Albany, Queensbury College or SUNY-Plattsburgh, to serious drug trafficking, distribution, or manufacture
- Sex crimes
- Theft crimes: larceny, shoplifting, bad checks, possession of stolen property
- Drunk driving or driving under the influence of drugs (DWI/DWAI/DUI and DWAI-Drugs)
- Traffic violations including speeding tickets and moving violations locally and on the Northway
- Self defense
- Possession of firearms
- Violations of probation or violation of parole
- Juvenile crimes and juvenile delinquency
Beware of general practitioners who practice in criminal law. You should be looking for someone who has concentrated on criminal defense throughout their career. Contact me today and let's get started on your defense.
